To My Friends

The Purpose of This Page

Ok, this page isn't as flashy or as polished as some of my other pages or websites. It's not meant to be. This is my way of saying THANK YOU to all of the people that I've met over the years, and seem to have forgotten. I'd like to keep in touch with all of you, but time has a way of making that impossible. I don't like the newsletter form letter that some of my friends have used to keep in touch. So, what tends to happen is we lose touch, and once in a while reconnect. Here is my way of trying to reconnect.

The link to this page is 'http://www.reststop.com/friends/index.html' and if you replace "index" with your last name, all lowercase, you may find a separate private message just for you. If your name doesn't work, please don't try poking around guessing various surnames to see what I've written to others. These are meant to be private messages. Please respect that.

Whether you find a note or not, things change. As I have time, I may add new notes, or change old notes, or delete notes. Kind of like a 'blog' I will likely add a horizontal rule and leave the previous note below, or above, or maybe install a blog linked to this page where we can leave messages for each other. I guess it will depend on how I feel at the moment, and how much time I can devote to such a project. I might even put a date on them, but who knows. Feel free to come back and check, and also to drop me a line from time to time. Lately, I get about 100-200 spam messages a day, and sometimes miss a couple of real messages, but I review all the spam looking for a name I recognize or a subject that concerns me. So, please don't be upset if I miss a message. I won't be offended if you send it again, as long as it's not, again and again and again :-)

My Message to All of You

Whether you've noticed or not, I love and care about all of you.

I believe that friendships are as precious as life, and we exchange a part of ourselves whenever we make friends. That's why being with friends is so great, and why reconnecting with old friends feels so good.

After many years of living in an interrupt environment, putting out whatever fire my boss, my wife, my friends, or even I myself find needs my attention, it's difficult to remember that I may have left something unsaid, or undone, and more than once. I try very hard to keep my promises and those times I miss something, forget something or even royally screw something up, I do my best to make things right. If I've missed or forgotten something you care about, please feel free to bring it to my attention and I'll see what I can do. If you think that I've snubbed you in any way, I guarantee you that it was unintentional, and I want to make it right. I don't hold grudges, nor do I retaliate for percived misunderstandings. Any misunderstanding or unresolved issues I know of exist because we haven't talked about it. Let's talk and get on with this thing called "life".

I care about all people, and especially care about those who have touched my life in some way. (In case you're wondering, This means you!)

If you're reading this, you're visiting my site, maybe curious to see what a "friends" link points to, or I've asked you to look me up via my web site. If you're a guest, please feel free to browse my other pages, or links to other sites. If you're a friend, please feel free to re-connect. I have accounts on gmail, hotmail, orcut, linked-in, friendmily, yahoo, AOL IM, and several other bulletin boards, Drop me a message, and I'll try to respond.

My email address is simply carl in care of this domain, reststop.com. If you got here another way, that domain will probably work as well.

Thank you for coming, and for taking the time to read this. Take care and may God bless you and keep you safe. If you don't believe in God, Allah, Yahweh or some higher being or force, that's your option. I'll be happy to discuss belief systems with you when we both have a few moments. Keep safe yourself and your loved ones, and I will do the same.
